Creating art makes me happy. I adore the flexibility and diversity that acrylic paint allows me as a painter. In over 25 years as a professional artist, I have been working in acrylics for 7 years, it is my most recent medium, and I love it!

Where can I go to get an answer to my ws55question. I am an new acrylic painter. I am putting a polymer medium over my finished painting. I have tried signing my paintings with several waterproof type pens. The ink always bleeds. What is acrylic ink? Will that work under a polymer without bleeding? Thanks for any help you can give me. Karen

Hi Karen: I experienced the same problem. I tried Carbon Black liquid acrylic by Golden, using a No. 2 round. Just takes a bit of practice and a light touch to get decent at it. I sign my artwork after it’s been coated with two layers of gloss medium. That way if the signature doesn’t go well, you can take the paint off carefully with a bit of rubbing alchohol on a cotton swab, and not damage your work. When I’m happy with the way it looks, I give it another coat, then varnish the painting with UVLS topcoat. Val

Thanks for the help, Val !! I think I will try that next time I want to sign in black. I use the Carbon Black airbrush color a lot for outlining things. (a bit thinner than fluid)
